Meet our Artistic Director

Benjamin Noyes is a born and raised Oregonian and a native of Hillsboro. Growing up, Benjamin attended Eastwood Elementary, Brookwood Elementary, Poynter Middle School, and Hillsboro High School. He is married to his high school sweetheart, who he met in Hilhi Choir, and has daughters, Maddy (4 1/2) and Kennedy (11 months).

He graduated from Portland State with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education and Master of Education. While at Portland State, he spent the entirety of his college experience in the Portland State Chamber Choir, serving as their Vice President and President. Benjamin student taught at Ladd Acres Elementary and Lakeridge High School. He is currently the choir director of his alum, Hilhi, and South Meadows Middle School.

Lindsey Lefler

Ms. Lefler is a classically trained lyric soprano with a degree in k-12 Music Education and Vocal Pedagogy. She has a passion for working with young children, and adults with developmental disabilities.  Lindsey is a resident lyric soprano with the Light Opera of Portland (LOoP) singing the leading roles in most of their productions, and directs an adult church choir. She is also a member of the Hillsboro-based Oregon Chorale. All three of her children sing with HCYC, as well!


Phillip Thompson-Aue

Born in Portland, Phillip’s passion for music began when he started learning piano at 6 years old. Since then, he has moved all around the Pacific Northwest, and his musicality has continued to grow with him.  As a multi-instrumentalist, Phillip also works as an organist at McMinnville’s First Presbyterian Church, and is a piano teacher. Phillip enjoys spending time with his girlfriend Emma and pet hedgehog Ramona in their Tanasbourne apartment.
